How It Works

A Virtual Assistant (“VA”) is not a consultant performing only piecework/project work. A VA is not like an employee, either.

As a Virtual Assistant, I will become your business partner sharing your goals and working together to achieve those goals. I always proactively make suggestions, and my clients love that.

Just like you, I am a solopreneur myself, so I understand the challenges that come with owning and running a business, and I would love to lighten your load.

I hope you are getting an idea why I put so much focus on working only with my ideal clients whom I can have a fabulous, long-term working relationship. To work with the right clients and stay as great partners, I have the following processes in place.

Prior to Working Together

I believe it is very important to have that *fit* for a VA-client relationship to really work well. For that reason, I conduct one or more phone interviews prior to establishing a new business relationship. These are meant to be 2-way interviews: I would love to get to know you, and I would also want you to get to know me. My client and I both should feel very comfortable with each other. If not, it is best not to work together.

Typically, we will talk about your goals, what you are ready to delegate, your requirements, how I can help you, and so forth during our first conversation. Most likely, we will be able to tell if we click during the first 15 minutes or so. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have during this phone call, or if more questions pop into your mind after the call, please give me a call or send me an email.

If we both feel comfortable about pursuing the opportunity of working together after the first call, we will schedule our second call to further learn about each other and about your business. Please bring up any concerns you may have about our working together. I want us to be honest and open with each other from the get-go!

Off To A Great Start

Once we have agreed to establish a working relationship, you will receive my Welcome Packet, loaded with information. The Packet includes a welcome letter, MTH Virtual Assistance Policies and Procedures, what you can expect from me, what is expected from you, general information on virtual assistance, the client information form, and questionnaires that will help jump-start the relationship. The more I get to know you, the more help I can offer. I would appreciate that you complete and return the packet to me as soon as possible so that I can start Making Things Happen for You.

Weekly Update Tele-Meeting

At least during the first month of working together, I ask my clients to spend at least 15 minutes each week with me on the phone to:

* discuss what is coming up and plan accordingly
* figure out what I can take off your plate
* talk about any concerns

Holding these phone calls especially during the early stage of working together will make things so much more efficient and easy, and we all want that, right? After the first month, we may stop having them, provided we will still be closely in touch with each other on an ongoing basis.
